Riding Club

A confidence-building program for kids ages 6–14 that emphasizes safe horsemanship, hands-on horse care, groundwork, and riding.

What Riding Club Is All About

Riding Club is designed for kids who are new to horses and for returning riders who want to keep building skills. Some days are more ride-focused, and some days lean into groundwork and horsemanship because confidence starts from the ground up.

Ages
6–14 years

A supportive environment for kids to learn and grow at their own pace.

Schedule
Saturdays • 9 AM – 12 PM

Drop-off, tack up, ride time, in-class learning, clean up, pick-up.

Group Size
Limited to 8

Small groups so every rider gets support, attention, and safe instruction.

What Kids Will Learn

Each session blends hands-on barn time with riding and in-class learning. Riders will build practical skills like:

  • Groom, fetch, and tack up
  • Groundwork and safe horse handling
  • Horseback riding fundamentals
  • In-class learning (horse care, anatomy, riding disciplines, and more)
  • Confidence, responsibility, and teamwork with their horse

Our Approach

At Jäger Ranch, we focus on solid foundations – safety, education, physical well-being, and professionalism for both horse and rider. We also teach kids how to work with a horse as an individual, because horses have personalities and moods too. Learning to read them and build trust is part of becoming a rider.

Riding Club FAQs

A few common questions we get from parents before registering.

Does my child need experience?
Nope — no experience is required. We meet riders where they’re at and build confidence step-by-step.
What should my child wear?
Long pants, closed-toe boots with a small heel (if possible), and weather-appropriate layers. We’ll send a full prep email to waitlist families before the session begins.
Is this just riding?
Riding is part of it, but the real magic is the full horsemanship experience — horse care, groundwork, in-class learning, and building trust with the horse.
How do I get the dates when registration opens?
Join the waitlist and we’ll email you first when Spring registration opens (and when Fall sessions are announced).

Want first access to Spring registration?
